FAQs

Do you take insurance for treatment?
No, and here’s why that’s a good thing!
Working outside the insurance model allows me to focus entirely on you, not on what insurance companies dictate or on the other 2-3 patients scheduled in your timeslot. Together, we create a personalized plan that prioritizes your goals, not arbitrary limits or approvals. Plus, this means more productive visits, less red tape, and more time spent actually addressing the root of your pain or performance issues.

Won’t I save money using my insurance instead of going cash-based?
Not necessarily, and here’s why:
With insurance-based care, your treatment is often limited by what your plan covers, which can mean shorter sessions, less personalization, and working with multiple patients at once. My cash-based approach is different. From day one, you’ll receive a comprehensive plan tailored to your goals, with clear progressions designed to help you not just manage your symptoms but reclaim the activities your symptoms have been holding you back from.
You’ll also have direct access to me between sessions, so you’re never left feeling unsure or stuck. Every session is focused entirely on you, ensuring we make meaningful progress and get you back to what you love as quickly and safely as possible.
When you consider the personalized care, support, and long-term results, this approach offers incredible value for your investment.

Do I need a Doctor's Prescription to work with you?
Nope!
California’s direct access laws allow you to work directly with a physical therapist without a doctor’s prescription. This means you can start your rehab or training journey immediately—no waiting for referrals or extra appointments. If we discover anything during your assessment that requires immediate medical attention, I’ll guide you in the right direction.
-
What does the initial assessment look like?
Whether in person or online, your journey starts with a thorough and personalized assessment. Here’s what to expect:
Movement Screens: Evaluating how you move and identifying any areas that need attention.
Strength Screening: Testing your overall strength and imbalances.
Capacity Screening: Measuring your ability to handle specific physical demands.
Health History: Discussing previous injuries, surgeries, and any other relevant health information to create a complete picture of your needs.
This isn’t just a one-time event—it’s the foundation of your customized plan, tailored to your goals.

What types of clients do you work with?
I work with active adults and athletes who want to start or progress in the gym, recover from injuries, or return to a sport like pickleball, skiing, or basketball. If you’re ready to move better and stay in the game, we’re a great fit.
